Mobile Disco In Warwick Requirements – Plan and simple. Phil (the groom) wanted a Mobile disco from 9 until midnight and only play their playlist. I did say to the happy couple; please choose a good mixture of music to suit everyone and not just their own. They only wanted a basic setup because there were only around 40 guests.

Party Details

Phil and Liezi had provided me with an extensive playlist of the songs I could play, and they also said the main reason why they booked me is that I do play playlists. When I first saw there playlist my 1st thoughts were there were too many Medleys (which I do not usually play), e.g. Abba, Boney M, Buddy Holly, Village people and there was a few more. In total 90 minutes of it, Which in my eyes it was away too much in 3 hours music. The other requests were mainly 60s and 70s like D.I.S.C.O. By Ottowan, Time Warp by Richard O Brian, La Bamba and If I had a hammer by Trini Lopez, Macarena by Los Rios.

Set Up Details

We were told access into the room at 8 pm, and we arrived a good hour early at 7 pm. The venue said that it would be at least 90 mins as they had just started to eat. 8.30 came around, and they had only just finished the main course, and there had been no speeches yet. We were then let into the room at 9.30 around 90 mins late. We set up in 20 mins and started straight away with their 1st Dance.

Party Time and 1st Dance

Their 1st dance was Bee Gees and More than a woman, and they had a little dance routine to go with it. That went well, and I got guests dancing to the playlist ( i had chosen the best from their Playlist). At 10.15 they wanted me to do the Bouquet throwing to single ladies and the Garter toss to Macho Man by the Village People. These did not go down very well because there were no single people in the room (they had put no thought into this as most of the guests were married).

At 10.30 there was more food coming out (they only finished a three-course meal an hour ago) and no one wanted it. The best man came over to me then and asked me to continue with the playlist with all the Medleys. These were ok for a while but as I thought they got bored of them and I was getting other guests asking for requests, and I was unable to play them. I finished on a high with a few songs I knew would go down well. I guess, the good thing was most of the guests stopped to the end of the night.

Overall Comments

It’s a great venue and it was not there fault things were running late. I felt if the Bride and groom had given me a smaller playlist and I could add some of my own it would have been an excellent night instead of an Ok Night. I think there was too much Cheesy music and Medleys ( i know it suits some crowds but not this one ) and the bride and groom only wanted songs which they liked. They still thanked me for a good night although it could have been better with my input of music.
